He has toured internationally, performing in countries like Germany and France with his former group Sexteto Clariô, and has collaborated with notable artists in Brazil. Caio has also performed as a soloist with the University of São Paulo Philharmonic Orchestra and has given workshops and lectures at several American universities. His recent projects include a residency with OneBeat and a series of visual albums titled "No Pinicado da Viola," which explores the musical origins of the viola caipira.
Caio de Souza has released several albums, including "Urutu," "Espalha Brasa," and "Onde Está o Jeca?" He holds a bachelor's degree in viola caipira performance from the University of São Paulo and has pursued a Master's in ethnomusicology at Indiana University. His work reflects a deep connection to Brazilian rural rhythms, such as pagode caipira, cururu, and baião, showcasing his versatility and dedication to preserving traditional music while innovating within it.
