Amir Darabi is a highly acclaimed Iranian pianist and composer who has showcased his talent from a very early age. At just three years old, he began his musical journey with his mother, Leila Hafezieh, as his first piano teacher. This early exposure led him to explore various genres, including classical, jazz, rock, and blues. Darabi's musical prowess was recognized through multiple awards, such as winning Iran's Young Talented Musicians' prize at ages five and eight, and achieving first place in classical piano in the Iranian Youth Festival at the ages of five and ten.
As he grew older, Darabi's unique style blended jazz with Middle Eastern influences, earning him recognition both locally and internationally. Notably, he released his debut album "Lonely Hands" at the age of 18, which became one of Iran's top-selling jazz albums. He continued his musical education at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston on a full scholarship, further refining his blend of traditional Persian music with Western elements. This resulted in his album "Ya'al," released in January 2021. Darabi has collaborated with renowned musicians such as Zakir Hussain and Homayoun Shajarian, and has performed at prominent music festivals like Tehran Jazz Nights and the Berklee Middle Eastern Festival. His recent works include tracks like "I Have To," "Dokmeh," and "Divaneh (Amir Darabi Remix)".
