Steve Porcaro

Steve Porcaro is an American keyboardist, songwriter, and producer best known as a founding member of Toto. As part of the band’s classic lineup, he contributed synthesizers and songwriting, and he’s widely associated with some of Toto’s best-known work—most notably as the writer of “Human Nature,” the song made famous by Michael Jackson on *Thriller*. Beyond Toto, Porcaro has also worked as a session musician and behind-the-scenes collaborator with major pop artists.

In later years he returned to Toto’s orbit after time away and also released solo material that leans into sleek pop craftsmanship and synth-forward textures, often featuring notable guest vocalists. His career has a strong throughline: polished songcraft, signature keyboards, and a knack for blending rock musicianship with pop and R&B sensibilities.
