SECHSKIES

Sechskies, often stylized as SECHSKIES or 젝스키스, are a seminal South Korean boy band that first stepped onto the music scene in 1997. They became one of the most successful and beloved first-generation K-pop groups alongside contemporaries like H.O.T. and Shinhwa. Originally composed of six members—Eun Ji-won, Lee Jai-jin, Kim Jae-duck, Kang Sung-hoon, Jang Su-won, and Ko Ji-yong—the group quickly gained attention with their vibrant energy, catchy songs, and polished choreography. Their impactful career during the late '90s was marked with hits like "Couple," "Chivalry," and "Pom Saeng Pom Sa." However, at the height of their popularity, Sechskies shocked fans by disbanding in 2000.

Fast forward to 2016, Sechskies made a grand resurgence to the K-pop scene following a heartwarming reunion on the variety show "Infinite Challenge," leading to a new contract with YG Entertainment. Since their reunion, albeit without Ko Ji-yong who has chosen a different career path, Sechskies has continued to delight both original and new fans with fresh music and remakes of their classics. They commemorated their 20th anniversary with the appropriately titled album "THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY" and have since released several albums and singles including "2016 Re-ALBUM," "ANOTHER LIGHT," and "ALL FOR YOU." Their most recent releases maintain the nostalgic essence of their initial sound while adapting to modern K-pop sensibilities. Despite the departure of Kang Sung-hoon in 2019, Sechskies continues as a quartet, demonstrating their enduring legacy and adaptability in the evolving music industry.
