Diego Pisador was a Spanish vihuela player and composer who lived in the 16th century. He was born in Salamanca, Spain, around 1509. He was a member of the court of Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, and he traveled extensively throughout Europe. He published several books of vihuela music, including "Libro de música de vihuela" (1552) and "Libro de música de vihuela" (1554). His music is characterized by its use of counterpoint and its incorporation of popular melodies. He died in Rome, Italy, in 1557.
