Connie Price & The Keystones

Connie Price & The Keystones is a funk and soul collective helmed by guitarist and producer Dan Ubick, who has worked with a wide range of talent across the hip-hop, soul, and psychedelic scenes. Originally emerging in the early 2000s as an instrumental group inspired by the sounds of classic Stax and Motown, they quickly became known for their raw, cinematic funk grooves and tight, horn-driven arrangements. Over the years, the band has collaborated with a diverse lineup of artists, including members of Jurassic 5, Big Daddy Kane, and Brand Nubian, blending vintage soul with modern hip-hop influences.

Their standout album, Lucas High, released in 2019, saw them team up with numerous emcees and vocalists, creating a gritty, beat-heavy sound that paid homage to classic blaxploitation vibes while sounding totally fresh. Connie Price & The Keystones continue to build a bridge between deep funk roots and contemporary music, earning respect from crate-diggers, DJs, and hip-hop heads alike.
