Extreme is an American rock band hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, formed in 1985. The band achieved widespread popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their musical style that seamlessly mixed funk, rock, and glam metal. Known for their proficient musicianship and formidable guitar work, Extreme consists of lead vocalist Gary Cherone, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, bassist Pat Badger, and drummer Kevin Figueiredo.
