Abysmalia

Abysmalia is a Finnish metal band that began as a one-man project in 2007, founded by Jouni Koskela. Initially, Koskela uploaded an extended play titled "The Sewage of Lies," which received positive feedback, encouraging him to continue creating music. Over time, Abysmalia expanded to include additional members: Antti Jylhä on bass guitar in 2008 and Marko Nikula on clean vocals in 2009. The band's music is characterized by its blend of styles, drawing inspiration from the environment and personal freedom of expression, making it difficult to categorize strictly within a single metal sub-genre. Abysmalia has released several albums, including "Portals to Psychotic Inertia," "Quid Humanum Est," and "Replenish Entirety," showcasing their evolving sound.

Abysmalia remains a studio project due to the geographical dispersion of its members across Finland. Jouni Koskela cites influences such as The Haunted, Emperor, and Opeth, reflecting the band's eclectic approach to metal music. Despite not performing live, Abysmalia continues to produce music that explores a wide range of metal styles, from thrash to progressive elements.
