The High Kings

The High Kings are a contemporary Irish folk group that has been bringing a fresh and energetic approach to traditional Irish music since their formation in 2008. Comprising Finbarr Clancy, Brian Dunphy, Darren Holden, and, until his departure in 2020, Martin Furey (who was then replaced by George Murphy), The High Kings are known for their harmonious vocals and skilled instrumentation. The band members hail from accomplished musical pedigrees, making their collective talent a force to be reckoned with in the genre of Irish folk music.

Marking a revival in the popularity of ballad groups of the 1960s and 1970s, The High Kings blend classic Irish tunes with their own contemporary twist, appealing to a wide audience ranging from purists to a newer generation of folk music fans. Their discography includes lively renditions of traditional songs as well as original compositions that stay true to the essence of Irish folklore and culture. Among their recent releases such as "Where I Belong at Christmas" and "The Road Not Taken," The High Kings continue to tour internationally, sharing the rich heritage of Ireland’s musical history with the world through their robust performances and recordings.
