Daniel Gutmann

Daniel Gutmann is the Austrian baritone born on June 4, 1991, in Zwettl, Lower Austria, who's been captivating audiences with his rich, bronze-toned voice since breaking into opera early on. Trained in choral music from a young age with ensembles like Motettenchor Herzogenburg and Domkantorei St. Pölten, he honed his skills in Herzogenburg, St. Pölten, and Vienna, studying voice with Julia Bauer-Huppmann at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and classical guitar with Melitta Heinzmann—plus he even has a sports science degree from the University of Vienna! His opera debut came in 2013 as Don Alfonso in Mozart's *Così fan tutte* at the Salzkammergut Festival, and he's since shone in roles like Papageno, Figaro, Don Giovanni, and Javert at venues including Munich's Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, where he's been ensemble since 2019.

Beyond the stage, Daniel's a versatile guy—dropping his debut solo album *Tränenflut* in 2023 with Schumann songs and pianist Maximilian Kromer, nailing Strauss II's *Waldmeister*, touring recitals to New York, Singapore, and D.C., and even fronting the award-winning country pop band The Groovecake Factory as singer, songwriter, and manager. He's popped up in films like *Die Unschuldsvermutung* as Don Giovanni and the doc *Amadeus, Amadeus – Winterklang Salzburg*, with fans loving his athletic stage presence and vocal power.
