Rancid

Rancid is an American punk rock band that was formed in Berkeley, California, in 1991 by guitarist/vocalist Tim Armstrong and bassist/vocalist Matt Freeman, who were childhood friends and former members of the influential ska-punk band Operation Ivy. The band's lineup solidified with the addition of drummer Brett Reed and, for a majority of their career, with guitarist Lars Frederiksen joining in 1993. Known for their energetic performances and unwavering dedication to the punk ethos, Rancid has been an integral part of the punk scene for over three decades, blending punk with ska, reggae, and hardcore elements and garnering a dedicated following.

Rancid has released a slew of albums that reflect their gritty, streetwise sound and D.I.Y. approach. Breakout success came with their third album, "...And Out Come The Wolves" in 1995, which became a seminal work in the punk community. The album's mixture of punk's aggression with ska's danceability resonated deeply with fans and includes some of their most iconic tracks. Subsequent albums such as "Life Won't Wait" and "Indestructible" further cemented Rancid's place in punk history, showcasing storytelling that touches on social issues and personal struggles alike. With their later works, including "Let The Dominoes Fall" and "Trouble Maker," Rancid has continued to produce anthemic punk music that speaks to a new generation while remaining true to the sound and message that have been their trademarks since the band's inception.
