Black Dice

Black Dice is an experimental music group known for their distinctive fusion of noise, psychedelic, and electronic music. Formed in 1997 in Providence, Rhode Island, by Eric Copeland, Bjorn Copeland, and Aaron Warren, the band initially had a reputation for creating a raw, intense sound that was often categorized within the noise rock genre. They moved to New York City, where they became a staple of the underground music scene, frequently performing in various Lower East Side venues.

Over the years, Black Dice's style has evolved, incorporating a wide range of experimental techniques and sounds, which defy easy categorization. The group has been credited with helping to pioneer a unique sound that blends elements of ambient music, glitch, drone, and avant-garde experimentalism. Noteworthy releases such as "Broken Ear Record" and "Creature Comforts" solidified their status as innovators in the experimental music scene. "Mr. Impossible" and "Repo" showcase their ability to meld chaotic noise with rhythmic patterns, creating immersive and challenging soundscapes. Despite lineup changes and the fluctuating currents of musical trends, Black Dice has maintained a dedicated fan base and continues to push the boundaries of music with their recent releases like "Mod Prog Sic" and the "Remixes EP". Their work remains a testament to the power of sonic exploration and the enduring appeal of music that dares to be different.
