Dómkórinn í Reykjavík

Dómkórinn í Reykjavík, or the Reykjavík Cathedral Choir, is the official choir of Reykjavík Cathedral in Iceland. This talented group of about forty singers regularly performs at church services, including high-profile official events such as the inauguration of Iceland's president. Their repertoire is wide-ranging and impressive, featuring major choral masterpieces like Brahms's *Deutsches Requiem*, Bach's *Christmas Oratorio*, Mozart's *Requiem*, and Handel's *Messiah*. They also champion Icelandic music, having premiered numerous works by Icelandic composers alongside international pieces. Under the direction of organist and conductor Kári Þormar since 2010, the choir has toured and given concerts both in Iceland and abroad, earning critical acclaim.

The choir is a cornerstone of Iceland's vibrant choral culture, providing a rich musical experience at the historic Reykjavík Cathedral and beyond. Their activities include recording albums and supporting contemporary choral music creation, making them both guardians of tradition and innovators in Icelandic choral music.
