Wilmer X

Wilmer X is an iconic rock band hailing from Sweden, known for their energetic blend of rock and rhythm and blues. Since their formation in 1977, they've become a staple of the Swedish music scene, crafting a distinctive sound that appeals to a broad audience. Originally named Wilmer Pitt, the band changed its name to Wilmer X at the end of the 1970s. The group has undergone various lineup changes throughout the years, but Nisse Hellberg (vocals and guitar) and Jalle Lorensson (harmonica) have been the consistent core members who have driven the band's creative direction.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Wilmer X achieved widespread success in Sweden, releasing a number of hit albums and singles. Their music is characterized by a raw energy and straightforward rock approach, combined with Hellberg's distinctive voice and Lorensson's harmonica skills. Despite singing primarily in Swedish, their sound was influenced by classic American roots music, which helped them cultivate a broad appeal. Their recent releases, such as "Jorden runt i jul" and "Nya planer för jul," showcase their enduring ability to connect with fans, while "BLUES, SVETT OCH TÅRAR (Live Malmöfestivalen, Augusti 2018)" captures the magnetic live performances that have been a hallmark of their multi-decade career. Their repertoire continues to evolve, evidencing their versatility and ongoing relevance in the Scandinavian music industry.
