Sebastián Iradier
Sebastián Iradier was a Spanish composer and musician born in 1809. He is best known for his habanera "La Paloma" (The Dove), which became a worldwide hit and has been recorded by countless artists. Iradier's music was influenced by the rhythms and melodies of Cuba, where he spent time as a young man. He also composed other popular habaneras, such as "El Arpa Perdida" (The Lost Harp) and "Adiós a Cuba" (Farewell to Cuba).
