My Ruin

My Ruin is a Los Angeles-based metal band that emerged onto the music scene with a powerful blend of heavy metal, hard rock, and spoken-word poetry, laced with an intense and confrontational style. Fronted by the formidable Tairrie B Murphy, who is known for her growling vocals and raw, poetic lyrics, the band began its sonic journey in the late 1990’s and quickly established itself as a force to be reckoned with in the hard rock and nu-metal scenes. The union of Tairrie with guitarist and musician Mick Murphy marked the solidification of My Ruin's core, producing a series of albums full of gritty riffs and aggressive, soul-bearing performances.

With a discography reflecting a relentless work ethic and a dedication to their craft, My Ruin has forged a path of musical intensity that veers between the brutally heavy and the darkly melodic. Their 2013 release, "The Sacred Mood," showcases the band's ability to evolve while maintaining the raw edge and authenticity that have defined their sound since "Speak and Destroy" debuted in 1999. Traversing the spectrum of metal subgenres, while never losing the underlying thread of impassioned rage and personal storytelling, My Ruin has left an indelible mark on fans around the globe. Although often associated with the early 2000s metal wave, the band's fervent live performances, notably captured in "Alive On The Other Side," and their fiercely independent stance have ensured their reputation as a standout act known for challenging both themselves and the boundaries of the metal genre.
