Growing up influenced by gospel music, he started playing guitar at age nine and formed the Virginia-based blues band Less Traveled in 1994. The band gained a loyal following through self-produced albums and touring, sharing stages with acts like Merl Saunders and Tim Reynolds. After moving to New York City, Chris Timbers developed his unique style, blending country, jazz, blues, rock, and alternative soul. His career faced challenges, including legal troubles, but he used those experiences for self-reinvention and continued to focus on positive and motivational themes in his music, performing with a talented group known as the Chris Timbers Band.
