**Aléa Lorén** is a Portland, Oregon-born neo-soul and R&B vocalist who grew up in a super musical family—her dad was the minister of music, her mom studied at Howard and sang, and even her brothers Alvin on keys and AJ on drums now back her up. Music hit her early; she grabbed the church mic and nailed her first solo, “He’s Alright with Me,” before she was even two. As a teen, she sang in the choir at Thomas Jefferson High School, an arts magnet, but life threw curveballs like losing her grandma at 16, getting married young, starting a family, and running a daycare, which paused her songwriting for years while church singing became her therapy.
Encouraged by her brothers and Portland heavyweights like Saeeda Wright and Farnell Newton, she debuted in 2022 as **Church Girl** at The 1905 jazz club, selling it out and sparking a residency at Alberta Street Pub with bandmates like bassist Ian Lindsay and guitarist Keenan Dorn. She's dropped empowering tracks like “The Self-Love Anthem” (prod. by Newton, 2024) and “Inspiration” (2025), performed at Portland Jazz Festival and Good in the Hood, and kept the hits coming with singles like **kiss ur reflection**, **messy**, **convenient**, **Don't Call Me Baby**, and more, blending soulful vibes that heal and get folks moving.
