CMD/CTRL

CMD/CTRL is an electronic and alternative music duo known for their genre-defying, bass-driven sound that blends electronic, indie rock, and dance influences. The project was formed by Matt Rose and Alex Cowan, both experienced musicians with rich backgrounds: Matt Rose previously co-wrote albums for The Qemists and Monuments and collaborated with artists such as Dirtyphonics and Excision, while Alex Cowan has worked under the names TM-Juke and with the band LOYAL, producing and remixing for notable acts including David Guetta and Black Coffee. CMD/CTRL embraces a "roll the dice" approach to music making, unconstrained by traditional genre boundaries and known for a raw, distorted highway-style sonic experience.

Since forming around 2018, CMD/CTRL has released an EP and several singles, such as "No Stress," which gained traction both in the dance community and mainstream radio. They have also secured sync placements with major brands like Sky, Ford, Nintendo, Adidas, EA Sports, O2, and Samsung. In 2022, CMD/CTRL signed to the NWS label, further expanding their reach, with new releases like "Pink Champagne" and the upcoming "Common Ground" continuing to showcase their innovative sound.
