Jura Stublić

Jura Stublić is a Croatian singer and songwriter, best known as the frontman of the influential rock band Film. Born on March 2, 1954, in Zagreb, Stublić rose to fame during the 1980s, a pivotal period in Yugoslav rock music. Film's blend of new wave, punk influences, and melodic rock, along with Stublić's distinctive vocal style and poetic lyrics, earned them a devoted following across the former Yugoslavia.

After the group disbanded in the late 80s, Jura Stublić embarked on a successful solo career. His solo albums, such as "Sunce Sja!" (The Sun Shines!) and "Hrana Za Golubove" (Food for Pigeons), continued to showcase his knack for catchy tunes and introspective storytelling. Throughout the years, Stublić remained an important figure in the regional music scene, his work bridging the sensibilities of rock's classic era with contemporary sounds. His catalogue, including compilations like "Sve Najbolje" (All The Best), underscores his lasting influence and the timeless appeal of his music. Stublić is not only a musician but also a cultural icon, whose songs have chronicled the changing landscapes of both his country and the wider world.
