Chino Amobi

Chino Amobi is an American experimental electronic musician, artist, and co-founder of the record label NON Worldwide, a collective of African artists and of the diaspora which seeks to articulate the visible and invisible structures that create binaries in society, and in turn distribute power. Amobi is known for his unique approach to music that fuses dissonant electronic compositions with confrontational performance art elements, often addressing themes of radical identity politics, post-colonialism, and the global black experience.

With a discography that includes pivotal works such as "PARADISO," a dense and challenging sonic tapestry released in 2017, Amobi has carved out a distinct niche within the experimental music scene. His critically-acclaimed album, with its ceaseless morphing and fusion of noise, speech, and music, serves as a dystopian narrative that pushes listeners to confront discomforting realities. Other significant works include "Airport Music For Black Folk" (2016) which layers sparse rhythmic patterns with industrial soundscapes, reflecting on the mobility and surveillance of black bodies. His more recent releases like "LABYRINTH" and "FRENCH EXTREMISM" continue to delve into complex narratives, utilizing abrasive sonics that demand attention and contemplation. Amobi's work, including his remix of "Weary" and more personal offerings such as "Anya's Garden," defy conventional music structures and assert his unapologetic artistic vision, captivating a committed audience eager for his challenging auditory experiences.
