Haeun Joo

Haeun Joo is a talented jazz pianist, composer, and songwriter born in Busan, South Korea, who started tickling the ivories at just five years old. Growing up immersed in jazz, funk, and pop from the Seoul scene, she chased her passion to the US in 2011, studying at Berklee College of Music under heavyweights like George Garzone, Danilo Perez, and Joanne Brackeen, before earning her master's at SUNY Purchase in New York, where she's now based and gigging regularly.

Her debut album *We Will Find* dropped in 2021, a thoughtful jazz gem blending introspection, hope, and melancholy with collaborators like Matt Holman on trumpet, Doug Weiss on bass, and Ronen Itzik on drums—plus she's guested on cool projects like Jihye Lee's *Daring Mind*. Fresh off releases like the single *86* and her sophomore effort *Just Gravity* in 2026 (mostly solo piano with trio touches from Chris Tordini and Steven Crammer), Haeun's influences shine through—think Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans, and Fred Hersch—while she tours internationally and lights up top jazz spots in Korea, Mexico, and NYC.
