Pradeepa Dharmadasa

Pradeepa Dharmadasa is a renowned Sri Lankan musician, playback singer, and former stage drama actress. Born on January 26, 1964, she began her career in the 1980s with stage plays like "Sathyanganavi" and "The Good Woman in Setsuan," where she showcased both her acting and singing talents. Her music career took off when she joined Premasiri Khemadasa's choir and later sang her first song, "Duwillen Seduna Liye," for the TV serial "Weda Hamine" in 1987. She has released several albums, including "Duwillen Seduna Liye," "Kandulu Thotupola," "Sathyangana," and "Hendewata Kalin Enna." Pradeepa is married to politician Dullas Alahapperuma and has two sons.

Pradeepa's versatility extends beyond music; she holds a Master's degree in Sociology from the University of Kelaniya and has pursued various educational endeavors, including a scholarship from the Bhatkhande Music Institute in India. Her dedication to her craft is evident in her commitment to giving her full attention to each role or song she undertakes. Despite her husband's high-ranking political position, Pradeepa has maintained her artistic independence and integrity throughout her career.
