Mischief Brew

Mischief Brew was an American punk band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, blending a melodic synthesis of folk, punk rock, swing, and anarchist lyrical flair. Formed in 2000 by Erik Petersen as a solo project, it eventually evolved into a band whose music defied easy categorization, pioneering their own brand of punk rock that they referred to as "anarcho-punk folk rock." Over the course of its existence, Mischief Brew produced a body of work that resonated with the counterculture and the underground music scene, earning them a dedicated following attracted to their mix of musical innovation and sociopolitical commentary.

The band's discography is a testament to their musical journey and evolving style, with recent releases such as "Bacchanal 'N' Philadelphia" and "This Is Not for Children" showcasing their ability to deliver both raucous anthems and intimate ballads. "O, Pennsyltucky!" and "Rhapsody For Knives" further exhibit their unique blend of rootsy instrumentation and punk aggression. The release of the "Art Of The Underground Single Series Volume 2" demonstrates the band's knack for capturing raw energy and emotion in a condensed form. Despite the tragic loss of frontman Erik Petersen in 2016, Mischief Brew's music continues to inspire and ignite the spirits of those who challenge the status quo, making them a lasting figure in the realm of rebel music.
