IC1s

## IC1s Biography

IC1s are a London-based indie rock band formed in Harrow in 2010, quickly earning a reputation for their high-energy live shows and riotous attitude. The original lineup features Daniel Coburn (vocals), Jesse James (guitar), John Campbell (guitar), Jacob Osman (bass), and Andy Faulkner (drums). In their early years, they became known for supporting major acts like The View and The Buzzcocks and caught the attention of industry figures such as Alan McGee and Gary Powell of The Libertines. Their sound—a blend of catchy choruses, vivacious riffs, and lively drums—draws on varied influences, including Motown, reggae, Nirvana, and Oasis, according to Coburn.

After a promising start, IC1s’ debut album, *What Took You So Long?*, faced multiple setbacks; recording began in 2014 with producer Barny Barnicott (known for working with Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian), but legal disputes with management shelved the project and led to the band’s split. A decade later, a sold-out reunion at Camden Assembly in November 2024 reignited the band’s creative spark, and the original members returned to the studio in early 2025 to finally release their long-awaited debut. The album captures the band’s early-2010s spirit while connecting with new audiences, and their recent releases, including singles like “Levitate,” “Soul on Trial,” and “Wack Jack,” showcase their knack for both memorably melodic and lyrically earnest songwriting. IC1s remain a band with a story as compelling as their music—defiant, passionate, and back to reclaim their place on stage.
