She pursued her passion by studying music, eventually earning a Master's degree in Indian classical music from Punjab University. Her career has spanned over thirty years, with appearances on All India Radio Kashmir and Doordarshan, Srinagar, as well as performances in Hindi films and TV serials after moving to Mumbai in 1988.
Neerja Pandit is also recognized for her role as a mother and mentor to Raj Pandit, a renowned singer and music producer.
