Aindra dasa

Aindra Dasa, born Edward Striker in 1953 in Virginia, USA, was a highly influential musician within the Hare Krishna movement. He was initiated into the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition by Srila Prabhupada in 1973, marking the beginning of his spiritual journey. Initially, he was involved in book distribution and pujari services in North America, often performing street kirtans in New York City. In 1986, he moved to Vrindavan, India, to revive the 24-hour kirtan at the Krishna Balaram temple, a legacy of Srila Prabhupada. Aindra Dasa became renowned for his energetic and spiritually charged kirtans, which drew inspiration from various musical styles and rhythms, making kirtan accessible and vibrant to a broader audience.

Aindra Dasa's music legacy includes albums such as **Cintamani Nama**, **Vrindavan Mellows**, and **Vraja Vilasa**, which have been remastered in recent years. His approach to kirtan was characterized by heartfelt devotion and a focus on expressing feelings towards Radha and Krishna. His work significantly influenced younger devotees, and his kirtans became a highlight in Vrindavan and beyond. Aindra Dasa passed away on July 17, 2010, leaving behind a profound impact on the spiritual music landscape.
