Christopher Wyze & the Tellers burst onto the global blues scene with their 2024 debut album *Stuck in the Mud*, a 13-track collection of original songs recorded in iconic music spots like Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Clarksdale, Mississippi. The band started as a studio project in 2022, born from the collaboration between singer-songwriter Christopher Wyze—who had spent two decades fronting blues cover bands but had never written his own songs—and multi-instrumentalist and producer Ralph Carter, a seasoned musician with a rich background including work with Eddie Money and Grammy-nominated blues artist Sugaray Rayford. Their debut album quickly earned critical acclaim and chart success, including a top 40 Blues Album of the Year nod from RMR, all before the band had played a single live show.

Wyze, originally from the southern hills of Indiana, draws his musical inspiration deeply from the Mississippi Delta’s blues heritage, sharing stories of struggle, hope, and perseverance with a voice that blends country-style crooning with authentic blues emotion. The Tellers comprise talented musicians with connections to notable acts like The Black Keys and Blue Mountain’s Cary Hudson, adding rich layers of guitar, keys, bass, and drums to the ensemble’s sound. In October 2024, they captured the energy of their live performance at Clarksdale’s Juke Joint Chapel on the album *Live in Clarksdale*, showcasing their gritty, soulful sound in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
