PENs+

PENs+ is a Japanese math rock band that formed in 2011. Known for their intricate guitar work and emotive dual vocals, they gained attention for their unique sound influenced by Western bands like Algernon Cadwallader and TTNG. The band members met in high school, where they began practicing together and eventually formed PENs+. The name "PENs+" originated from a pen case illustration. They were active until 2017, when they disbanded, with some members pursuing other careers in arts and music. Although PENs+ is no longer active in the same capacity, they have recently indicated a return of sorts, listing themselves as a math, emo, and post-hardcore band.

Their music, including albums like "OUR days" and tracks such as "透明な箱" (Transparent Box), reflects a blend of Japanese and Western math rock influences. PENs+ made their music available on platforms like Bandcamp, expanding their reach to a global audience. Despite their disbandment, the band's legacy in the math rock scene remains significant.
