Vittoria Aleotti was an Italian composer and organist who lived in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. She was a nun at the Augustinian convent of San Vito in Ferrara, Italy. Aleotti is known for her musical compositions, particularly madrigals, which were a popular form of secular vocal music during the Renaissance period. Her work "Ghirlanda de madrigali a 4 voci" (Garland of Four-Voice Madrigals) was published in 1593, making her one of the few women composers of her time to have her music printed and distributed.
