Jackie Lee Cochran

Jackie Lee Cochran, often known as "Jack the Cat," was a fiery rockabilly pioneer who brought some serious swagger to the genre back in the 1950s. Born in Dalton, Georgia in 1934, he kicked off his music career with raw, energetic tracks like "Riverside Jump" and "Mama Don't You Think I Know," blending country roots with that wild rock 'n' roll edge. After a stint in the military and some time away from the spotlight, Jackie made a killer comeback in the 1970s and '80s during the rockabilly revival, recording for labels like Rollin' Rock and delivering albums such as *Jack the Cat* and *The 1985 Sessions*. His gritty style and storytelling lyrics made him a cult favorite among fans of authentic, no-frills rockabilly until his passing in 1998.
