Dương Bửu Trung

Dương Bửu Trung is a Vietnamese singer and actor known for his passion for cải lương and tân nhạc (modern music). He is the grandson of the legendary cải lương musician Năm Cơ, whose influence inspired Trung’s deep appreciation for traditional southern Vietnamese folk music and the 5-tone scale characteristic of these styles. Although he did not follow directly in his grandfather’s footsteps as a đàn cổ player, he pursued a career as a singer focusing on both modern and folk-inspired music, aiming to honor his family’s musical heritage while connecting with contemporary audiences. Trung has performed widely, including participation in programs that celebrate Vietnamese culture and music, and has a repertoire that blends traditional rural Vietnamese sounds with modern elements.

His recent releases, such as "Xin em giữ trọn tình quê" and "Đưa em vào hạ," showcase this blend of nostalgic emotional melodies and dance remix influences, reflecting his versatile approach to music rooted in cultural respect and modern tastes.
