Leti Garza is an accomplished singer-songwriter, pianist, and bandleader based in Austin, Texas, known for her unique blend of Latin, folk, and global music styles. Growing up in Houston, Texas, she was deeply influenced by iconic artists like Eva Garza, Celia Cruz, Tracy Chapman, and Carole King, both musically and through their activism. With a background that also includes dance and theater, and training at Houston’s High School for the Performing & Visual Arts and the University of Texas at Austin, Leti weaves powerful stories of love, loss, and human experience into her music. She is also recognized for her dedication to social and cultural causes, particularly championing migrant rights along the Texas-Mexico border through her work, such as the album *Borderland*.
Beyond her artistry, Leti has earned multiple awards, including recognition from the Texas Music Museum and the Global Music Awards. She serves as a mentor with the Recording Academy's GRAMMY® U program and remains an active figure in both the local and international music communities. Her recent album *Canciónes Sobre La Vida y La Muerte* was released in early 2024, showcasing her continued evolution as a Latin fusion artist with a strong voice for social change.
