The Winstons were an American funk and soul band formed in Washington, D.C. in 1969. The group is best known for their 1969 hit single "Color Him Father", which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was written by Richard Spencer and produced by Dave Crawford. The Winstons released several other singles and albums throughout the 1970s, but none of them achieved the same level of success as "Color Him Father". The band broke up in 1975, but they reunited in 1984 and have continued to perform and record sporadically since then.
