Il Gusto Barocco

**Il Gusto Barocco** is a Stuttgart-based orchestra specializing in early music and historical performance, founded in 2008 by conductor and harpsichordist Jörg Halubek. The ensemble mainly focuses on music from the 17th and 18th centuries, covering a wide range of genres including concerto, opera, and church music. They perform with flexible orchestration, from chamber sizes to larger ensembles, often inspired by their training at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. They are known for rediscovering and staging forgotten baroque operas and works, such as Johann Sigismund Kusser’s *Adonis* and Antonia Bembo’s *L’Ercole amante*, gaining recognition especially through the “Stuttgart Series” and Baroque Festival Week they established since 2020.

Il Gusto Barocco is praised for their vibrant rendition of J.S. Bach’s works, including the *Brandenburg Concertos* and *Art of the Fugue*. Their recordings strive to evoke historical atmospheres like Bach's performances at Café Zimmermann, with intricate programming and engaging musicianship.
