Soda Stereo

Soda Stereo was one of the most influential and emblematic rock bands to emerge from Latin America, hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Formed in 1982 by Gustavo Cerati (lead vocals and guitar), Zeta Bosio (bass guitar), and Charly Alberti (drums), the trio quickly became pioneers of the Spanish-speaking rock scene, blending elements of new wave, pop, and classic rock with an inventive twist. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, they released a string of successful albums that revolutionized Latin rock and cemented their status as rock icons across the Spanish-speaking world.

The band's innovative sound was characterized by Cerati's poetic lyrics, distinctive melody lines, and a modern approach to production, which often incorporated synthesizers and experimental recording techniques. Albums such as "Canción Animal," "Dynamo," and the hauntingly beautiful "Sueño Stereo" showcase the band's creative evolution and depth. Despite disbanding in 1997, Soda Stereo left an indelible mark on the fabric of Latin music. Their legacy continued with various remastered editions of their landmark albums, as well as the "El Ultimo Concierto" series, which captured the emotional energy of their final performances. The "SEP7IMO DIA" album and its associated Cirque du Soleil show, which remixed and celebrated the band's hits, exemplify the enduring appeal and creative spirit of Soda Stereo, even years after they stopped recording new material.
