The Kickback is an American indie rock band originally formed in Vermillion, South Dakota by singer/songwriter Billy Yost. The group later relocated to Chicago, Illinois, where they established themselves in the local music scene. Known for their energetic live performances and catchy indie rock sound, The Kickback has drawn comparisons to bands like The Veils, The Walkmen, and The Killers.
The band released their debut album "Sorry All Over the Place" in 2015, which was produced by Jim Eno of Spoon. They followed this up with their sophomore effort "Weddings & Funerals" in 2017. The Kickback has toured extensively, supporting acts like Bush, Smith Westerns, and Manic Street Preachers, while also performing at festivals such as South by Southwest and Summerfest.
