Mark Otis Selby, known as Mark Selby, was a highly regarded American blues-rock singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer. Born in Enid, Oklahoma, Selby’s music career spanned over two decades during which he crafted a unique blend of rock-edged blues and roots music. His exceptional skill as a songwriter was highlighted by his efforts alongside his wife, Tia Sillers, with whom he co-wrote the Dixie Chicks’ Grammy-winning hit "There's Your Trouble" and Kenny Wayne Shepherd's "Blue on Black," which garnered major acclaim and awards.
Selby’s solo work showcased his fiery guitar playing and soulful voice, earning him a dedicated following, especially among blues and rock aficionados. Albums like "More Storms Comin’" and "Dirt" are prime examples of his gritty style and storytelling abilities. His live performances, such as the one captured on "Live At Rockpalast - One Night In Bonn," exuded the raw energy and passion that he poured into his music. "Naked Sessions" was a testament to his introspective and acoustic side, revealing the depth of his artistry. Unfortunately, the music world lost this talented musician when he passed away in September 2017, but Mark Selby left behind a legacy of authentic, soul-stirring music that continues to resonate with fans around the globe.
