Mr. Mister

Mr. Mister was an American pop rock band that rose to fame during the mid-1980s with a polished sound that encapsulated the era's quintessential mainstream appeal. Formed in 1982, the band ushered in a blend of keyboard-driven melodies and catchy guitar hooks complemented by thought-provoking lyrics. The core lineup consisted of lead vocalist and bass guitarist Richard Page, guitarist Steve George, drummer Pat Mastelotto, and guitarist Steve Farris.

The band's breakthrough came with their 1985 album "Welcome To The Real World," which featured two Number 1 hit singles, "Broken Wings" and "Kyrie," pushing them into the international spotlight. Their debut album, "I Wear The Face," had laid the foundation for their style, but it was their sophomore effort that secured their position in music history. They followed up with the album "Go On" in 1987, continuing their trend of introspective and mature songwriting accompanied by pristine production. Though less commercially successful, it was a critical gem underscored by the band's deepening artistry. Mr. Mister’s final studio album, "Pull," initially recorded in 1989 was shelved by the record label and remained unreleased until 2010, when it surfaced to the delight of fans as part of an expanded edition. Despite the group disbanding in the early 1990s, their music remains a touchstone of '80s pop rock, echoing an era of immense creativity and unforgettable melody.
