Mad Parade

Mad Parade is a punk band that originated in Los Angeles in 1982. During their early days, they were influenced by bands from New York and the UK, such as 999, Dead Boys, and Buzzcocks. Unlike many LA bands at the time, which were focused on hardcore, Mad Parade aimed to create a unique sound by blending pop and punk elements. They are often credited as pioneers of the pop-punk genre, though they received little recognition for it. Their self-titled album, released in 1984 on Important Records, showcased their distinctive style. The band also released a second album, *A Thousand Words*, on BYO Records, which leaned more towards pop while maintaining their punk roots. Over the years, Mad Parade has continued to produce music and perform with various notable bands. Their early recordings have been reissued by Dr. Strange Records, allowing new generations to discover their music.
