Bence Boganyi

Bence Bogányi is a Hungarian bassoonist born into a family with deep roots in music, where his brothers are the acclaimed pianist Gergely Bogányi and cellist/conductor Tibor Bogányi. He began playing the bassoon at age nine and studied in Hungary before continuing his training in Finland, Sweden, and Germany under notable teachers such as György Bokor, Jussi Särkkä, Asger Svendsen, and Klaus Thunemann.

Bogányi has enjoyed a celebrated international career as both a soloist and orchestral musician. He has won top prizes at major competitions, including the International Crusell Competition and the Fernand Gillet/Hugo Fox Competition, and has served as principal bassoonist in leading ensembles like the Finnish National Opera, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Munich Philharmonic. As a recording artist, he has released albums such as "The Hungarian Bassoon" and "Le charme du Basson," showcasing his versatile and expressive musicianship.
