Kara Veia, born Edvaldo José de Lima, was a Brazilian forró singer from Alagoas who gained popularity in the early 2000s. Known for his emotional vocals and songs about rural life and love, he emerged from humble beginnings to become an influential figure in the vaquejada forró scene. His hit songs like "Foi você" and "Filho sem sorte" showcased his talent for blending traditional toada styles with more contemporary forró arrangements.
Tragically, Kara Veia's promising career was cut short when he died by suicide in 2004 at the age of 31. Despite his brief time in the spotlight, his music continues to influence new generations of forró artists, with many contemporary stars citing him as a major inspiration.
