Peter Adriaansz is a Seattle-born composer (1966) who studied at The Hague and Rotterdam conservatories under Louis Andriessen, Brian Ferneyhough, and Peter-Jan Wagemans. Known for his systematic, microtonal works blending structure with raw sonic experimentation, he’s composed for ensembles worldwide, from Amsterdam’s Trio Scordatura to Dublin’s Crash Ensemble. His discography includes recent releases like *Environments* (2021), *Enclosures* (2016), and *Three Vertical Swells* (2011), often exploring slow-evolving soundscapes and harmonic complexity that reviewers describe as both "ingenious" and "poetic". When he’s not writing music resembling "post-industrial Wagnerian landscapes," he teaches composition at The Hague’s Royal Conservatory.
