Bruce Hornsby and the Range is an American rock band formed in 1985. The band is led by singer-songwriter and pianist Bruce Hornsby, and also features bassist Joe Puerta, drummer John Molo, and guitarist Robbie Robertson. The band's music is a blend of rock, pop, jazz, and classical influences, and they are known for their intricate arrangements and Hornsby's distinctive piano playing. Bruce Hornsby and the Range have released nine studio albums, including their 1986 debut album "The Way It Is," which featured the hit singles "The Way It Is" and "Mandolin Rain." The band has also won three Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist in 1987.
