Ed Sanders

Ed Sanders is a poet, singer, social activist, and co-founder of the influential 1960s countercultural band The Fugs. Blending biting satire with radical politics, The Fugs became a staple of the underground music scene in New York City, and Sanders’ irreverent lyrics and vocal performances were central to their sound. Outside The Fugs, Sanders has continued to create music and spoken word recordings, often infusing his work with poetry, history, and political commentary.

Over the decades, he's released a wide range of solo recordings — from the humorous to the avant-garde — including projects like "Poems For New Orleans" and "Songs In Ancient Greek." His work is known for its intellectual curiosity, wit, and commitment to social issues. A lifelong advocate for peace and justice, Sanders continues to be a vital voice in American art and activism.
