Swale is a band from Burlington, Vermont, formed in 2002 as part of the house band for a burlesque revue. The band consists of Amanda Gustafson on keys, Jeremy Frederick on drums, Eric Olsen on guitar, and Tyler Bolles on bass, with all members contributing vocals. Their music spans a wide range of genres, including rock, soul, and experimental styles. Swale has released several albums, with their 2017 double LP *There's No One Here* being particularly noted for its diverse themes and musical influences. The band's music often reflects personal experiences and relationships, with Amanda Gustafson and Eric Olsen being the primary songwriters and a couple whose relationship influences much of their material. Swale's sound has evolved from ambient slow-burns to a more eclectic mix of rock, soul, funk, pop, and country, allowing them to cover a wide range of musical styles.
