West Texas Exiles

West Texas Exiles is a vibrant Austin-based band formed by musicians originally from West Texas cities like El Paso, Amarillo, and Lubbock. The group includes lead vocalist and guitarist Marco Gutierrez (formerly of Dirty River Boys), multi-instrumentalist Daniel Davis, bassist Eric Harrison, drummer Trinidad Leal, and Colin Gilmore, son of renowned singer-songwriter Jimmie Dale Gilmore. Their music blends deep Americana roots with a fresh, modern take on Texas storytelling, drawing inspiration from legends like The Flatlanders, Buddy Holly, and Jason Isbell. Their sound is marked by rich songwriting, soulful vocals, and a lively energy that captures both the restlessness and affection for their West Texas heritage.

Their debut full-length album, *8000 Days*, explores themes of leaving home and the search for identity and belonging, with each member contributing heartfelt, personal songs reflecting their journeys from West Texas to Austin. The band quickly made a name for themselves through a sold-out EP release and performances at major events like SXSW and Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion. Known for their collaborative spirit and strong live presence, West Texas Exiles are regarded as a compelling voice in the contemporary Americana scene, evoking the enduring spirit of the Southwest while pushing the genre forward.
