Biquini Cavadão

Biquini Cavadão is a Brazilian rock band that formed in 1983 in Rio de Janeiro, by Bruno Gouveia (vocalist), Carlos Coelho and Álvaro Birita (both guitarists), and Miguel Flores da Cunha (keyboardist). Named after a misheard lyric from the Rolling Stones' song "Bikini Red," the band has carved out a significant place in the Brazilian rock scene with their blend of pop rock and post-punk influences. They came into the spotlight in the mid-80s during the boom of Brazilian rock, with other bands like Legião Urbana and Os Paralamas do Sucesso, which led to what is often called the "golden age" of Brazilian rock.

Throughout their career, Biquini Cavadão has experienced consistent success, appealing to a broad audience with hits and memorable albums. Their sound, characterized by catchy hooks and heartfelt lyrics, often reflects the experiences and sensibilities of Brazilian youth. The band's extensive discography includes hits such as "Tédio," "Vou Te Levar Comigo," and "Dani," with the latter two demonstrating their enduring talent for connecting with fans across generations. The group has maintained their relevance over the years by refreshing their music, as seen in collaborations like "Moska Apresenta Zoombido: Biquini," which showcases their ability to blend with contemporary artists while staying true to their classic sound. With a career spanning over three decades, Biquini Cavadão continues to be a staple of Brazilian rock, celebrated for their contributions and influence within the genre.
