Snarky Puppy

Snarky Puppy is a collective of sorts, an amalgamation of some of jazz, funk, and world music's keenest practitioners, who congregate under the leadership of bassist, composer, and producer Michael League. Formed in Denton, Texas in 2004 while many of its members were still students at the University of North Texas, the group has since evolved into an internationally acclaimed ensemble known for their innovative cross-genre approach. Their work is characterized by complex instrumental compositions and includes interactions with a wide array of artists from different traditions and genres.

With a reputation for awe-inspiring live performances, Snarky Puppy's dynamic approach to music has earned them multiple Grammy Awards, turning them into a reference point for a unique blend of improvisational jazz fused with rock, funk, and world music influences. In their journey, they have captivated a global audience, releasing albums like "Immigrance" and "Live at the Royal Albert Hall", the latter capturing the raw energy and refined musicianship that defines their concerts. As of their latest release, "Empire Central", Snarky Puppy continues to break boundaries and expand their influence, engaging a diverse fan base and carving out a distinctive space in the modern music landscape.
