Ninfa Giannuzzi

Ninfa Giannuzzi is a talented singer, musician, and author known for her deep connection to the Griko language, an ancient dialect still spoken in parts of Salento, Italy. Born in 1980 in Genk, Belgium, to a family of Italian miners, she embraced her heritage by learning and writing songs in Griko, a language cherished by her grandmother and often associated with themes of femininity and tradition. Giannuzzi has performed with the orchestra of La Notte della Taranta since 2000 and has released works such as *Tis Klei*, blending traditional influences with contemporary sounds.

Besides her musical career, Ninfa has a rich academic background, holding a degree in Letters and Philosophy from Lecce and a master's in Film Analysis and Writing from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. She has worked behind the scenes in cinema and currently teaches literature, demonstrating a multifaceted engagement with culture and the arts. Her music and storytelling reflect both her cultural roots and her artistic versatility, making her a distinctive voice in the world of Italian folk and beyond.
